The Titanic movie, firstly released in December 1997 and then in 1998 in many other countries, attracted an immense worldwide audience, with big groups of family and friends going to watch the movie over and over again. It is considered a classic that is really ingrained in popular culture, inspired a cult following , it is quoted frequently. It was a blockbuster that became the highest- grossing film of all time worldwide and stayed 12 consecutive years as such, only being surpassed by Avatar, which was also directed by James Cameron. Titanic made total of over $2 billion in Box Office with the two theatrical releases (in 1998 and 2012 in 3D). After the fist theatrical release, Titanic made a total of $1 billion and, in 2012, it became the second movie to surpass the $2 billion mark. The Titanic movie made Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet achieve global stardom, converting Leo in an international sex symbol superstar. It also won 11 Academy Awards (and three more nominations), 4 Golden Globe Awards, 5 Grammy Awards, with a final total of 119 wins and 73 nominations.
I had always loved the Titanic movie since I first saw it in 1997. However, I became a hardcore fan after watching it many more times, each time becoming more mesmerized by the beautiful soundtrack, stunning special effects, charming love story, and in general the magnificent work of art created. In 2012, after watching the Titanic 3D in theaters, I created a community where people could find only things related to Titanic in one place.
